SMSW v. Halberd

SMSW v. Halberd, U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Defended issuer, stock transfer agent and control person in securities fraud case. The case was tried to a verdict dismissing all claims. Prior to trial, obtained a ruling that damages under section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act were limited to reliance costs, in which the Court adopted a position that had been rejected everywhere outside the Ninth Circuit.
